We were tasked to come up with a solution to cleaning the windows to a large residential development in Birmingham City Centre.
The main problem was the gable end elevations....they are directly facing main thoroughfares into B'ham city centre.
 'reach&wash' couldnt be used as this would have meant operatives would have to step into the road....which wasnt an option......powered access was also not an option due to parking on the street and council costs for a permit.....solution....rope access.
Due to the nature of this development, we use a mixture of window cleaning solutions.....using rope access, powered access and 'reach&wash'.......the contract is carried out on behalf of a national housing association....where we are the preferred contractor to carry out difficult access solutions

complete access - rope access specialists - confined space cleaning

We have completed the internal cleaning to a horizontal and vertical duct today......access into the ducting was made via a purpose made inspection hatch......structural steelwork was used as our anchor points.

We were cleaning the build up of a paint bi-product.....very similar to varnish...all our equipment needed to be Atex rated and anti static.

Our technicians are all experienced in confined space ingress, egress and rescue.... our procedures conform to the confined space regulations 1997.....this includes detailed site specific risk and method statements and the provision of appropriate PPE!.......its very hard to believe that companies will let their staff into confined spaces without supplying gloves, safety glasses and dust particle masks.

Rope Access - Confined Space - Internal Silo Re-coating

We completed the internal recoating the top section of an exhaust silo....approx 10 mtres sq.
We have completed an NDT UT thickness inspection to the top of the stack that protrudes externally through the factory plant.......results werent good....thickness gauge in places was down to 2mm .... gauge at installation was 7mm...

Externally the stack was in good condition but the internal was heavily corroded.....grit blasting was not an option here ....light mechanical prep was all we could do ......and light prep.....meant light prep....we had to apply a specialist coating system that would do the job ......we approached our paint suppliers who were on the button on the coating system we should use........Owatrol CIP...a red primer base that needed minimal prep....this made a great key for the two coats of Centrecoat high slip black gloss.

complete access - ducting cleaning using MEWP

Complete Access - rope access specialists......have completed the internal cleaning to extraction ducting on behalf of a blue chip automotive company.
The ducting is part of the extraction system for primer paint .....our technicians accessed the ducting via Mobile Elevated Work Platform - MEWP!........not our first choice of access method but this demonstrates our versatility to carry out any access works in any location via any access method.
